Welcome to the Gasthof Zum Hirsch in Wiggensbach (near Kempten).

Our historic inn has been known throughout the Allgäu region as a ‘Bockswirtschaft’ since 1681. The Gasthof ZUM HIRSCH is just as suitable for holiday guests as it is for business travellers in the Oberallgäu. It is centrally located in the village.

The Gasthof ZUM HIRSCH offers cosy guest rooms, a traditional restaurant and a beautiful, shady chestnut garden. We offer single, double and multi-bed rooms as well as apartments. The rooms are cosily furnished in Bavarian style.

In the shade of our 220-year-old chestnut tree, you have the opportunity to enjoy the warm season to the full and unwind with a freshly tapped beer or a sparkling summer wine. Seasonal dishes emphasise the feel-good factor.
During the summer season, our traditional barbecue takes place every Tuesday, regardless of the weather.

If the weather is not so kind to us on a Tuesday, you will find shelter from the rain under our pergola. On particularly cold days, we are also happy to provide blankets. A special highlight is the visit of the Wiggensbacher Harmoniemusik to one of our barbecue evenings. For summer parties, birthdays and wedding receptions, there is plenty of space and a beautiful ambience in our chestnut garden.

For our younger guests we have a large play area without access to the street, so a visit to our restaurant is a pleasure for everyone.

Our cuisine offers regional, Bavarian and international specialities. And if you have any special requests for the kitchen and cellar, we will be happy to fulfil them at the Hirsch. We have 80 seats in our parlour, and for standing events such as wedding receptions, we can also accommodate a few more guests. It is possible to separate the parlour and thus offer only a part of the restaurant as a place for your private party.

Fritz Kast, a well-travelled chef, conjures up international specialities even in the deepest Allgäu.

Fritz Kast
is a graduate of the Steigenberger Hotel Academy and is also a member of the IHK Commission, the GAD (Gastronomische Akademie Deutschland) and the Union Internationale des Anciens Elevens des Ecoles Hotelieres PARIS.

Heidi Kast
the good soul of the house, impresses with her friendly manner and warm hospitality - she takes care of all the guests' heart's desires and ensures a pleasant atmosphere of well-being.

Rainer Kast
trained chef, co-owner and successor, is the master of the kitchen. He prepares regional and international dishes, always seasonal and fresh. He will be happy to advise you on menu selections and events, from aperitifs to desserts.

Stephan (Django) Kast
the bar waiter, is responsible for your physical well-being of the liquid kind.
